Pichi Richi Railway’s NSU52 entered service on 26 May 1954—the first diesel-electric to run on narrow gauge in SA, the first to run into Quorn and along with NSU51 was the first to reach Alice Springs.

Special train departing 10.00am from Port Augusta

NSU52 will double-head with steam locomotive NM25 to recreate a typical Marree Mixed. Four stunning photostops en route.
Arrives in Quorn at approximately 12.40pm.

Return trip—departs Quorn 2.00pm

NSU52 with NM25 banking in the rear as far as Summit, as was typical for trains departing Quorn for Port Augusta in the mid-1950s. After Summit, NSU52 will continue alone to Port Augusta, arriving at approximately 4.15pm.
There will be two photostops en route.
